Copter4 flew over a mobile home fire burning in Federal Heights on Wednesday afternoon. The fire sent up a thick, black plume of smoke that could bee seen for miles.

Investigators say they arrived and Stephen Truetken admitted to setting his neighbor’s home on fire. He was taken into custody.
North Metro Fire has Truck 62, Medic 63 and a battalion chief on scene assisting with a fire in Federal Heights along with several neighboring fire agencies. @NMFirePIO is not the lead agency and won’t be releasing additional info on the fire.

They say Truetken said he ignited the fire in the area of Moselle Street and North Tejon Street across the street from the Lamplighter Village knowing someone was inside.
They say he set his own home on fire. They say he claimed to have several homemade bombs inside the home.
The bomb squad responded and evacuated neighbors.
Truetken reportedly told authorities he’d been planning this incident for “some time.”
Residents will be able to return as soon as the area is considered safe.
