While it isn’t unusual for XRP to be under so much heat, the recent accusations were not just related to Ripple’s activities, it had to do with a lot of scam projects related to the XRP token. Members of the Bitcoin community started by shaming the XRP supporters with the “I told you so” line. It started when an executive at Blockstream called XRP a shitcoin.
I’m his words; “that shitcoins exist predominantly to enrich the people benefiting from the pre-mines and not those who fairly acquired BTC.”
He said that XRP’s current bull surge doesn’t make a difference in the long run and made reference to the fact that XRP executives have been dumping tokens more and more for years. In response, David Schwartz and other members of the XRP community came to the token’s defense. He said that he didn’t see anything wrong with people selling their cryptocurrency tokens whenever they wanted to. He said that the word “dumping” is used in this context to paint an ugly picture.
XRP Price Holds the Line at the $0.1300 Support
Most of the people who slammed XRP are Bitcoin maximalists. These people don’t believe that there is any other token other than Bitcoin. Every coin other than Bitcoin is a scam to them. To be fair, it’s easy to understand why many people don’t have faith in XRP. The token has been on a downtrend for more than three years. Safe for the last few weeks, XRP has been one of the worth performing tokens on CoinMarketCap.
At the time of writing, the price of the token was $0.300484. It is down by 1.06% against the USD and down by 0.82% against Bitcoin BTC. The trading volume over a 24 hour period is $3,623,954,200 and the market capitalization is $13,480,509,046.
