Brave Browser Makes Binance Widget Available to All Desktop Users

In an official announcement, the Brave team noted that the update allowed for a default integration of the Binance widget. Once installed, the widget will allow users to conduct crypto transactions directly from a new tab.  Users do not need to worry about ads and website trackers which the browser blocks.

The new feature was already available to a small group of users of the privacy-oriented browser, but has now been released to everybody.

Brave has officially made the Binance widget accessible to all of its desktop users, increasing its reach among cryptocurrency enthusiasts. Previously, only those with the Nightly and Beta versions had access to the widget.

The v1.8 stable release will now make it easier for Binance users to buy, trade, and receive cryptocurrencies.

Binance expansion and crypto adoption

Binance is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, and this offering is quite significant for its expansion efforts. Now, millions of crypto traders and supporters can easily and securely access the Binance exchange.

Active monthly users on the Brave browser have surpassed 13.5 million. The Binance widget will be available to most of these users across all major operating systems – Windows, Mac, and Linux.

The Brave team has not yet made an official announcement for when they expect to release a mobile version for the widget, however, it is expected that mobile support will be available before the end of 2020.

A simple approach to the widget

Anyone with a Brave browser will now see the widget when they open a new tab. On opening, the user gets a prompt, asking them to link their Binance account. They will then have to verify the account before accessing their assets.

Users will be able to do all the trading as offered on the Binance platform, including making deposits or converting assets into other crypto assets available via the widget.

The widget only interacts with the Binance API, with user verification or authentication needed before that happens. Integrating the widget, therefore, eliminates the need for installing third-party apps that can potentially pose security risks.

Users have the option to disconnect the widget, which stops the Brave browser from making any further communications between itself and the Binance API.

This integration adds value to both platforms and shows renewed efforts to increase the adoption of crypto. Some of the major cryptocurrencies Brave users can buy, sell, or exchange include Bitcoin, Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP), and Litecoin (LTC).

Binance recently acquired the crypto market aggregating site CoinMarketcap and has looked to expand its services across the globe.
