ASRock H370M-ITX/ac Review

While we as enthusiasts can hardly carry on a conversation without the word “overclocking” being included at some point, there is a large part of computing that does not include the term. Intel’s recently released chipsets are the epitome of this, as the support these chipset have for overclocking is completely removed, offering a strict set of features with every chipset that is tailored around a specific usage model or design.

Intel’s mainstream CPUs that do not support overclocking have fairly decent power consumption with most only requiring 65 W or less, so it is perfectly natural that we have a series of motherboard designs set to take advantage of that fact, including many based on the mITX form factor. ASRock’s H370M-ITX/ac is one of these boards.

Built with Intel’s H370 chipset onboard, the ASRock H370M-ITX/ac is a well-featured mITX product equipped with dual Intel Gigabit Ethernet controllers and an Intel Wi-Fi/BT controller. With a very low price of just over $100 US, the ASRock H370M-ITX/ac is an affordable option for those looking to build a basic PC that runs stocks and a single graphics card, with tremendous networking capabilities that make it a great option for internet cafes and media streamers.

The provided 6-phase CPU power supply runs cool and efficient, while the six SATA ports allow for lots of drives to be connected for HTPC streaming use, or even as a media server. Add in a triplet of onboard video outputs, and even if you don’t need a VGA, you’ve got some great connectivity options. If you don’t need to overclock and want to build a new PC with Intel’s newly-released Coffee Lake CPUs, you might want to take a look at this ASRock H370M-ITX/ac.
